My name is Eric. I’m the author of the book Stealing Home about the tragic events leading to the construction of Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. I’m also the editor in chief of Seattle Met, which recently won the General Excellence prize from the City Regional Magazine Association.

I’ve written for publications such as Sports Illustrated, ESPN, VICE, and Outside. For a couple years, I collaborated with my friend Adam Villacin on a sports history newsletter+zine project called Sports Stories. I also worked as an editor at VICE. Most of my writing explores the tension between individual lives and the historic forces that they are impacted by. I also like to write about sports.

My work is has been featured in the Best American Sports Writing anthology, highlighted on numerous longform journalism type websites, and earned other accolades such as the SABR Seymour Medal for best baseball book.

I’ve also worked over the years as a copywriter, editor, and consultant for advertising agencies and brands both major and minor.

I live in Tacoma, Washington with my family.
